Nettles in my smoothie?!
Nettles is a magical herb, that when fresh will sting you if you touch it, and the juice will take it away.
It can be dried and used in a multitude of ways, or cooked or juiced when fresh.

It’s packed with essential nutrients and powerful source of strength.

This morning when deciding whether it was a tea morning or a smoothie morning, I decided both.

In the blender I put:
2-3 leaves of kale destemmed
1 carrot
Half of apple decored
Half of frozen banana
A little apple juice
A little hemp milk
A tsp of dried nettles
A drizzle of agave
Then I poured boiling water over the top.
Gave the whole thing a good churning and poured it in a too go jar to steep while I got dressed and headed to the train. (Nettles work best steeped for at least 20 mins)

And whala a yummy nutritious infused smoothie!

Various types of Nettle have been studied for their effects on prostate hypertrophy, diabetes mellitus, rheumatic disease, hypertension, gastrointestinal symptoms, osteoarthritis, diarrhea, rheumatoid arthritis, inflammation, pain, constipation, gastrointestinal disease, headache, nausea, common cold, arthritis, asthma, bleeding, respiratory tract disease, allergic rhinitis, kidney disease, prostate cancer, skin disease and urinary tract disease.
